May 11, 2018 Voter Registration Ends:Deadline to register to vote in person for Primaries (unless county board holds weekend hours)
May 13, 2018 Voter Registration deadline - Electronic (online):Deadline to register to vote online or by fax or email for Primaries
May 14, 2018 Voter Registration deadline - In Person:Deadline to register to vote by mail for Primaries (must be postmarked by this date)
June 8, 2018 Absentee Ballot Request deadline - By Mail:Deadline to apply for absentee by mail ballot for Primaries. Voters should apply at least one week prior to election day to allow adequate mail time. Applying late puts voters at risk of being unable to return ballots by the deadline of 7:00 p.m. on election day.

The Opening And Closing Times For Polling Places

Polls open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Polling places will be open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. As long as you are in line by 7:00 p.m., you will be allowed to vote.

Am I Eligible To Vote in South Carolina?

Who Can Register?
  • be a United States citizen -be at least eighteen years old on or before the next election
  • be a resident of South Carolina, this county and precinct
  • not be under a court order declaring you mentally incompetent
  • not be confined in any public prison resulting from a conviction of a crime
  • have never been convicted of a felony or offense against the election laws OR if previously convicted, have served the entire sentence, including probation or parole, or have received a pardon for the conviction.

In order to vote, South Carolina law requires one must first register to vote at least 30 days prior to the election. To be eligible to register in South Carolina you MUST:
