March 2026

  • March 3, 2026: North Carolina Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — Statewide and Federal primaries are held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in March of each even-numbered year to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices - NC ST 163-1, 163-213-2.   • March 10, 2026: Mississippi Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — Presidential preference primaries and first congressional primaries of all political parties will be held on the second Tuesday in March before the November general election. MS ST 23-25-1081
  • March 17, 2026: Illinois Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — General Primary elections are held on the third Tuesday in March in each even-numbered year. 10 ILCS 5/2A-1. 1

June 2026

  • June 2, 2026: 2026 California Primary dates and deadlines — Statewide Primary election. Polling locations are established by county elections officials and are open from 7: 00 a. m. to 8: 00 p. m. on Election Day, Tuesday, June 2, 2026. To find a location to vote early before Election Day, visit caearlyvoting. sos. ca. gov. All California active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the June 2, 2026, Primary Election.

  • June 2, 2026: South Dakota Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — Statewide and Federal primaries are held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in June of each even-numbered year to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices - SD ST § 12-2-1
  • June 9, 2026: Maine Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — A primary election is held on the second Tuesday in June for the nomination of Congressional and State candidates to be voted for at the next general election. Semi-Open Primary: Maine law allows Unenrolled registered voters – those who have chosen not to enroll in a party – to select a party primary to vote in without enrolling in that party.

  • June 9, 2026: South Carolina Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — State and Federal primaries are held on the second Tuesday in June of each general election year to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices. RI ST § 17-15-1
  • June 16, 2026: Washington DC Primary Election Day dates and deadlines — On Election Day, between the hours of 7: 00 a. m. to 8: 00 p. m. , qualified electors may register to vote and cast full ballots in person at Vote Centers. All voters who are in line at 8: 00 p. m. may cast a ballot [D. C. Official Code §§ 1-123(d)(2), 1-1001. 07(g)(5), 1- 1001. 10(a)(1), (a)(3)(A)-(B), (b)(1) (third Tuesday in June)]. Deadline (8: 00 p. m. ) to deposit ballots at Vote Centers, drop boxes or the Board’s office, and for receipt of all electronically transmitted ballots [D. C. Official Code §§ 1- 1001. 05(a)(10A)-(10B)].
  • June 16, 2026: Oklahoma Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — State and Federal primaries are held on in June of each even-numbered year to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices - Both state and federal offices. OK ST § 26-1-102
  • June 23, 2026: Maryland PRIMARY ELECTION dates and deadlines — The Democratic and Republican Parties are required to use primary elections to choose their candidates for the general election. Generally, you must be registered with either the Democratic or Republican Party to vote in the primary election. If there are non-partisan offices that are elected in a primary election (i. e. , school board), any voter can vote for these offices.
  • June 23, 2026: New York Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — State and Federal primaries are held on the fourth Tuesday in June before every general election to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices - Both state and federal offices. NY ST § 8-100
  • June 23, 2026: Utah Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — State and Federal primaries are held on the fourth Tuesday in June of each even-numbered year to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices. UT ST § 20A-1-201. 5
  • June 27, 2026: Louisiana 2nd Party Primary Election dates and deadlines — On election day, the polls are open from 7 a. m. -8 p. m.
  • June 30, 2026: Colorado Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — State and Congressional primary elections are held on the last Tuesday in June of even-numbered years to nominate candidates of political parties to be voted for at the succeeding general election.

July 2026

August 2026

  • August 4, 2026: Kansas Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — A primary election is held on the first Tuesday in August in even-numbered years for the nomination of all candidates to be voted for at the next following general election. KS Art. 2 Ch25-204
  • August 4, 2026: Michigan Primary Election dates and deadlines — Election Day: Election Day registrants may obtain and vote an absent voter ballot in person in clerk’s office or vote in person in the proper precinct.
  • August 4, 2026: Missouri Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — The state primary are held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in August in each even-numbered year to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices. MO ST § 115. 341
  • August 4, 2026: Virginia Primary Elections dates and deadlines — U. S. Senate, U. S. House of Representatives, and Local Offices
  • August 4, 2026: Washington Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — State and Federal primaries are held on the first Tuesday in August preceding the November general election to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices, except candidates for President and Vice President of the United States.   • August 6, 2026: Tennessee Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — State and Federal primaries - "Regular August elections" are held on the first Thursday in August to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices. TN ST § 2-1-104. Primary elections will be held for Governor, U. S. Senate, U. S. House, Tennessee Senate (odd-numbered districts), Tennessee House, and Republican and Democratic State Executive Committees. General elections will be held for vacant state judicial offices and applicable county offices.
  • August 8, 2026: Hawaii Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — Congressional and State Primary elections are held on the second Saturday of August in every even numbered year.
  • August 11, 2026: Connecticut Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — Primary for state, district, and municipal offices if valid petitions are filed or 15% candidate certificates are filed.
  • August 11, 2026: Minnesota Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — The state primary are held on the second Tuesday in August in each even-numbered year to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices. MN ST § 204D. 03
  • August 11, 2026: Vermont Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — State and Federal primaries are held on the second Tuesday in August in each even-numbered year to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices, except candidates for President and Vice President of the United States.   • August 11, 2026: Wisconsin Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — State and Federal primaries are held on the second Tuesday in August preceding the November general election to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices, except candidates for President and Vice President of the United States.   • August 18, 2026: Alaska Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — State Primary elections are held on the third Tuesday in August of even numbered years. AK ST § 15. 25. 020
  • August 18, 2026: Florida Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — Congressional and State Primary elections for nomination of candidates of political parties are held on the Tuesday 11 weeks prior to the general election. Fl. title IX. ch100. 061 Primary election
  • August 18, 2026: Wyoming Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — State and Federal primaries are held on the first Tuesday after the third Monday in August preceding the November general election to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices, except candidates for President and Vice President of the United States. September 2026

  • September 1, 2026: Massachusetts Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — Congressional and State Primary elections for nomination of candidates of political parties are held on the seventh Tuesday preceding biennial state elections.
  • September 8, 2026: New Hampshire Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — State and Federal primaries are held on the second Tuesday in September of each even-numbered year to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices - Both state and federal offices. NH ST § 653: 8
  • September 9, 2026: Rhode Island Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — State and Federal primaries are held on the heighth Tuesday preceding biennial state elections to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices. RI ST § 17-15-1. However, Rhode Island's Democrat and Republican primary elections will officially be held on Wednesday, Sept. 9 this year, instead of the usual Tuesday election day.
  • September 15, 2026: Delaware Primary Election 2026 dates and deadlines — Congressional and State Primary elections are held on the second Tuesday after the first Monday in September.
