Consider yourself registered when- and only when- you receive an acknowledgment from your county clerk. Never assume you are registered to vote until you have received this acknowledgment. Call your county clerk and inquire about the status of your application.

Absentee and early voting in Oklahoma

  • June 1, 2026 — Absentee Ballot Request Deadline: Any registered voter in Oklahoma may vote by absentee ballot. It is not necessary to give a reason, although some voters may qualify for special conditions. In most cases, absentee ballot requests must be received no later than 5 p. m. , the third Monday (15 days) preceding the election. Except as allowed by law, only the voter may submit his or her own absentee ballot request.
  • June 11, 2026 — Early Voting Begins: Oklahoma offers in-person absentee voting, commonly called early voting, to all registered voters with no excuse required. Voters must cast their early ballot in the county where they are registered at their designated early voting location. Early voting is available from 8 a. m. to 6 p. m. on the Thursday and Friday before every election. For state and federal Primary Elections, Runoff Primary Elections, General Elections, and Presidential Preferential Primary Elections, voters can also vote early from 8 a. m. to 2 p. m. on the Saturday immediately before Election Day. Additionally, for General Elections, early voting is available from 8 a. m. to 6 p. m. on the Wednesday preceding the election.
  • June 13, 2026 — Early Voting Ends: Early voting ends 2 p. m. on the Saturday immediately preceding a state or federal Primary Election, Runoff Primary Election, General Election or Presidential Preferential Primary Election.

State and Federal primaries are held on in June of each even-numbered year to select the nominees of the major political parties for partisan offices - Both state and federal offices. OK ST § 26-1-102

  • October 19, 2026 — Absentee Ballot Request Deadline: Any registered voter in Oklahoma may request and vote by absentee ballot without needing to provide a reason, although some voters may qualify for special conditions. Absentee ballot requests must generally be received by 5 p. m. on the third Monday (15 days) before an election, and in most cases, voters must submit their own request. Certain voters may also need to confirm their address before requesting an absentee ballot, including those listed as inactive voters, identified as having moved through the National Change of Address system, flagged with an invalid mailing address by USPS, or whose voter ID card was returned as undeliverable. These voters must complete and submit a Confirm Address for Absentee Ballot form along with their absentee ballot request.
  • October 28, 2026 — Early voting begins: Early voting is available from 8 a. m. to 6 p. m. starting the Wednesday preceding the General Election.
  • October 31, 2026 — In-Person Absentee voting ends: Early voting ends 2 p. m. on the Saturday immediately preceding a state or federal Primary Election, Runoff Primary Election, General Election or Presidential Preferential Primary Election. **Note: ** The original date is October 31, which is a Saturday.
