Primary Election - August 11,2026​

The primaries of all parties for nomination to an office to be voted upon at a state election are held on the second Tuesday in August in the year in which such state election is held. CT.Sec. 9-423

Poll Hours: 6:00 AM-8:00 PM

August Primary Election Election's Important Dates:
July 27, 2026 Early voting begins: Depending on the type of election being conducted, you may early vote during the 15 days prior to Election Day. .
August 6, 2026 Voter Registration Deadline In Person: Voter registration begins on the 21st day before a primary. Application must be received by your Registrar of Voters or a voter registration agency by the 5th day before a primary. You may apply in person to your town clerk or registrar until 12:00 noon on the last business day before a primary .
August 6, 2026 Voter Registration Deadline By Mail, Fax or email attachment: Application must be postmarked by the 5th day before a primary. You may apply in person to your town clerk or registrar until 12:00 noon on the last business day before a primary .
August 6, 2026 Voter Registration Deadline Online: Application must be received by your Registrar of Voters or a voter registration agency by the 5th day before a primary. You may apply in person to your town clerk or registrar until 12:00 noon on the last business day before a primary .
August 9, 2026 Early voting ends: Early voting ends two days before an election except for any legal holiday designated, appointed or recommended under section 1-4 of the general statutes . . Note: The original date is August 9, which is a Sunday. Please double check with your local election office if they have moved this date to Monday - August 10
August 11, 2026 Election Day Voter Registration Deadline: Qualified individuals may register to vote at the polling place on election day (not offered for primary elections). C.G.S.A. § 9-19j .

General Election - November 3,2026​

November General election is held the Tuesday after the first Monday of the month of November in every even- numbered year.

October 19, 2026 Early voting begins: Depending on the type of election being conducted, you may early vote during the 15 days prior to Election Day. .
October 27, 2026 Voter Registration Deadline In Person: Voter registration for the general election begins on the 31st day before an election. Your application must be received by a voter registration agency by the 7th day before an election (OR you may register in person with your Registrar of Voters by the 7th day before an election). .
October 27, 2026 Voter Registration Deadline By Mail, Fax or email attachment: Your application must be postmarked the 7th day before an election (OR you may register in person with your Registrar of Voters by the 7th day before an election). .
